Circa 1820-1840 Creamware pitcher, tankard or creamer with a pewter cover that apparently is from the same period. This pitcher is not perfect. It has a faint hairline and a chip at the base that measures 3/4". Also a few nicks to the base and a firing mark at the bottom of the handle. BUT it is a very unusual piece and to have a pewter cover that is moulded into the handle makes it a very unusual piece. Fresh out of a house in the historic district in Charleston, South Carolina
