The State House in Philadelphia, 1762. Original engraving hand coloured by John Serz from a Original Oil Painting. C. 1860. John Serz. engraver was born in Bavaria in 1810. Left Germany in 1848. Worked in New York City. 1849-1850 and thereafter in Philadelphia where he was very well known for his engravings of portraits,landscapes and historical subjects. Circa 1770 Chinese Export Armorial Pudding Dish, octagon shaped. This fine detailed armorial is magnificent not to mention the Beautiful Spearhead Border. The center of this dish has a crown and underneath a monogram initial M. This dish measures 6 1/4" and is in good condition with no chips, cracks or restoration. Only some slight wear to the gilding on the outside border of this nicely shaped dish.
