Circa 1850-1870 Japanese Meiji Period Mixed-Metal Vase measuring 17 1/2" in height. The texture of the vase is just like the trunk of a tree and this is actually called the tree bark pattern and design. This is Japanese Lacquer on top of Satsuma. Circa 1720-1760 Japanese Imari Porcelain Barber Bowl. Barber Bowls are a form that was produced by the Japanese in the Late 17th to Early 18th century. These were typically made for the European Market. The
open cut out section was placed against the chin and a string was threaded through the two holes on the top opposite side and than placed around the neck to support the bowl.
