C. 1800 CHINESE EXPORT BLUE FITZHUGH ARMORIAL TUREEN
Circa 1800 Chinese Export Open Tureen without cover bearing the Arms Of Hill Dawe of Ditcheat House of Somerset. This Beautiful Oval Shaped Open Tureen is in Absolutely Mint Condition. The Dark Blue Underglaze Fitzhugh Painting is Fabulous With Great Detail Not to Mention The Wonderful Gold Highlighting Of This Very Fine Quality Fitzhugh Tureen. It measures 11 1/4" X 9 1/4" X 2 1/2" in Depth. The Armorial Crest is identified by David Howard in his Book, Chinese Export Porcelain, on Page 690. This Book is the Bible for identifying Armorial Crests and items that have Armorial Crests that are identified in this book are more valuable. There is no wear to the armorial crest at all. The Tureen is in Excellent Condition with only slight wear to the gold gilding that the cover would rest on, if the cover was not missing.
